The LI Credo Recovery 5th Annual Dinner and Comedy Show Fundraiser, held on Saturday, March 21, 2015,
was a big success thanks to all of you!
Every contribution of your time, talent and treasure,
no matter how big or small, is greatly appreciated.
This ministry would not be possible without your support.
You are making a difference!
Thank you for making Long Island Credo Recovery's 4th annual Dinner and Comedy Show, held on Saturday, March 29th, a great success! We appreciate your support. Please continue to pray for God to guide us in using our resources to reach the most people possible with the chain-breaking power of His Presence and His Truth!
Thank you to everyone who made our
Third Annual LI Credo
Dinner/Comedy Show
a great success!
This fundraiser is very important because it is the only source of income for our ministry. God willing, we will be holding three weekends this year – we just held the rescheduled men's weekend in May, and the regular fall men's and women's weekends are coming up fast. This fun evening out supports our recovery ministry. The funds are used to purchase supplies for the weekend and offer financial assistance to those who would like to attend, but have financial obstacles. We never want money to stand in the way of anyone receiving the help we offer.
Thank you for making
Long Island Credo's 2nd annual
Dinner & Comedy Night a success!
Thank you to all the people who worked so hard and put so many hours into this event. We are humbled and grateful for everyone's support. It is the heart and vision of Long Island Credo to reach people in the bondage of addiction with the extraordinary, life-changing gospel of Jesus Christ. Please continue to pray that we would be good stewards of all the resource our God is providing and that He would use us to truly make a difference in lives of people who are suffering.
LI Credo Dinner, Comedy Show
and Auction
February 26, 2011
Thank you to everyone who made Long Island Credo's first Dinner & Comedy Night Fundraiser a success. It was held on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the Holiday Inn in Plainview. The evening began at 6:00 p.m. with soft drinks and passed hors d’oeuvres, silent auction and Chinese auction, followed by dinner. Several men shared their recent experience with Credo. Then everyone enjoyed a hilarious comedy show. Comedians Rob Cividanes, John Shea, Just Plain Kieth and Cara Amore donated their talent for the event. Many auction items, donated by area businesses and artisans, were up for bid such as authenticated sports memorabilia, hockey tickets, handmade jewlery, gift certificates and more.
We are amazed at how God is blessing us. Credo is a ministry that is very new to Long Island. We are a small group of people whose lives have been negatively affected by the disease of addiction. When Steven DeCillis first experienced this ministry, it stirred a passion in him that has burned for decades ... to carry the message of hope to anyone suffering with addiction. He shared his vision of bringing Credo to Long Island with his family and friends and many people have lovingly and generously offered any assistance they were able to.
So far, there have been three men's Credo weekends and one women's Credo weekend on Long Island. God willing, we will hold our next weekends in the fall of 2012. Although we only ask for the amount it costs us, our concern is that some people who need and want what this weekend offers are unable to afford to go. We don't want money to keep anyone from experiencing this amazing weekend.
None of us have ever organized a fundraiser. We didn't know the first thing about it. But God provided the people and resources and we are amazed and grateful to Him and to all the wonderful people who supported these efforts.
Everyone had a great time and we raised funds to help continue to offer this ministry to anyone who is in need. Great job everyone!
"We have so much joy before our God because of you. We cannot thank him enough for all the joy we feel."

LI Credo's first Dinner Event April 17, 2010
Long Island Credo Recovery held a dinner event on April 17, 2010 at First Baptist Church in Babylon. One purpose of the dinner was to raise awareness of the great need there is in our communities for a solution to the plague of addiction. The group also invited guests to attend or serve on the next weekend. The hosts of the dinner were encouraged at the very positive response they received.
After attendees enjoyed dinner and fellowship, Steven DeCillis started out by sharing some sobering statistics about how wide-spread the problem of addiction is. Next, another participant presented his experience of serving on the weekend last October. He explained that he went reluctantly, doubting that he would be impressed by the weekend. However, now he feels differently. He found Credo to be a very powerful and potentially life-changing experience. Debbie DeCillis shared a few words and an emotional song about dealing with loved ones who are fighting to overcome this disease. Anton Dolce also explained what it was like for him serving on the October weekend as well as his heart-felt concern for his loved ones. Finally, Steven and John Walsh treated everyone to their rendition of the classic skit “Who’s on First.” Everyone had a good time and many people expressed an interest in becoming involved in Long Island Credo.
Long Island Credo Recovery is a Christian, non-denominational retreat designed for people in recovery from addictions. Credo endeavors to bring people to and to help them start a relationship with God. It emphasizes the need for reliance on God in order to truly become free of addiction. These weekends have been taking place in New Jersey, Illinois, West Virginia, Virginia and Maryland for many years. The next LI Credo weekends are scheduled for fall 2011. While all the candidates for this retreat must be in recovery or want to be in recovery, the team may or may not personally have addiction issues. For more information about Long Island Credo or if you are interested in attending or serving on a weekend, contact Steven DeCillis at 516-781-7725.
