Long Island Credo Recovery is a Christian, non-denominational outreach and community consisting primarily of people recovering from alcohol/drug addictions as well as other life-controlling issues. We support people with addictions, their families and those who desire to serve in the Credo ministry. The heart of Credo Recovery's ministry is to share the story of how God can transform lives. We encourage and help people to develop a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
Our tenets for recovery are healing, forgiveness, and a reliance on Jesus Christ. Experience has taught us that this is the best road to long term recovery.

Experience Peace and New Life
Long Island Credo Recovery helps people with life-controlling issues to find forgiveness, healing and intimacy with God. Our weekends are structured weekends, designed to inspire you and help you move forward from wherever you are now in your recovery process. There are speakers, times for discussion, prayer and meditation, as well as music, meals, snacks and more. It is difficult to put into words what makes these three days so exceptional. Maybe it is that the foundation of it all is God’s unconditional love for us.
Whether you are struggling with overcoming unhealthy habits or well on the road to living free, you can grow in extraordinary ways as a result of your participation in a Credo weekend. We believe that everyone who takes part in it will be positively impacted by this powerful experience.
The Bible teaches, “do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” (Romans 12:2) We in Long Island Credo have found our lives transformed in miraculous ways by God’s grace through faith. We have learned that there is no difficulty, obstacle or misfortune that cannot be overcome through Him. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13
If you are interested or if you know some one who may be interested, please contact Steven DeCillis at 516-551-7309.

Are you struggling?
Honestly, how are you right now? Do you feel dissatisfied with your life and unable to make it right? Do you turn to substances like alcohol, drugs ... even food, gambling or pornography ... to numb the pain and cover up your failure?
Addictions do not include only physical things that we consume, such as drugs or alcohol, but may include almost anything. Addiction may refer to a substance dependence (like drug addiction) or behavioral addiction (such as gambling or codependency.)
Addiction is when you crave something such as alcohol, drugs, gambling or "fixing" someone and get to a point when you find yourself pursuing these destructive behaviors more and more. These cravings are extremely difficult to control. For someone who is truly addicted, there is no motivation more powerful than the craving for that substance or activity and the person’s life becomes centered around it. Many continue in their unhealthy behavior despite the fact that they know it is having a negative impact on them and those around them. This way of living keeps a person from taking an honest look at his or her life and learning how to successfully turn things around. As the cycle of addiction persists, the person becomes stuck in a downward spiral. They may face the problems of having to find money to buy drugs or alcohol, to try to appear normal to their friends, family and employer, or to protect some one else from the consequences of their own actions at substantial personal cost. Whether they want to stop or not, they become trapped. Eventually, the drugs, alcohol, compulsive behavior, etc. change them both physically and mentally. Somewhere deep down, the addict feels terrifying loneliness.
One serious consequence of addiction is the destruction of relationships. The most important part in successful management of addiction is the ability to initiate, develop, and maintain healthy, intimate relationships with God and with others. Credo exists to help people learn to do this. No matter what circumstances you find yourself in at this moment, there really is hope for you! You can have a new chance at a healthy, productive and satisfying life.
Long Island Credo Recovery is a Christian program that teaches people with addictions the recovery process through the principles taught by Jesus Christ. Regardless of what has happened, the solution is to start making wise choices now, depending on Christ’s power and not our own to make the necessary changes. He has helped us and continues to provide for us all that is necessary to live with peace, joy, and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with God and others.
If you are open to find out how your life can be transformed in miraculous ways, consider joining us on the next Long Island Credo weekend! Contact Steven DeCillis at 516-551-7309.
